Meet Our Team

Mary Beth Johnson has been helping patients on the central coast return to their active lives for over 25 years.  She has extensive clinical experience in post-surgical rehabilitation and wellness programs and is certified in Jones Strain Counterstrain. She is also trained in advanced techniques to treat Parkinson's Disease, hippotherapy and is level 3 Reiki certified. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Chapman University. She is a member of the APTA. She and her family have lived in the Santa Ynez Valley for 28 years.

Claudia Davenport

PT, MPT

 

Claudia Davenport became interested in the mystery of healing through a dance injury in college. She graduated from Stanford with a M.A. in Physical Therapy in 1984. She has treated people with spinal cord and head trauma, stroke and general neurological damage, chronic pain, cardiac problems, as well as spine and extremity injuries.  Her approach is most influenced by the Australian Method and the Movement System Impairment approach. She has a specific interest in Somatics and is certified in both Rosen Method and Middendorf Beath Experience as well as being a long-term student of Sensory Awareness with Charlotte Selver. She moved to the Santa Ynez Valley in 1999 and spent time away from Physical Therapy to raise a family, run a business with her husband, and run a middle school life skills program. She has been at the Healing Project since 2021.

Chase Van Cleave

PT, DPT

Chase Van Cleave has been a Physical Therapist since 2022, specializing in treatment of neurological conditions including stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injuries, and various other ailments.​ After receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Sports Science in 2019, Chase received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.​ He is new to the Central Coast, moving to the area in late 2023 from Texas to enjoy hiking, camping, and exploring the natural beauty of the region.
